Processing fees
A fee is charged for the processing of each application. The fee will be collected when you submit your application, by the authority you submit your application to.

If you fill in an electronic application, the citizenship application fee will be charged via the electronic service. You can also pay the handling fee for other permits granted by the Finnish Immigration Service, upon visiting the authority in question in order to verify your identity and to present the original versions of the attachments required for your application.
The fee covers the processing of the application, and will not be refunded even if you withdraw your application. The fee will also not be refunded even if the decision on your application is negative.
The fees collected by the Finnish Immigration Service are based on the Ministry of the Interior decree 1038/2012.

- a citizenship declaration for so called 'war children' who were sent to the other Nordic countries due to the Second World War
