Figures refer to Finnish Immigration Service only

The figures for processing times at the Finnish Immigration Service represent the average time from the arrival of an asylum application at the Finnish Immigration Service through to the issuing of the first decision.

In practice, the overall waiting time for a decision is longer, as the figures exclude the processing times for other authorities, such as the local police and the Border Guard to whom applications are submitted. Any time taken for the appeal process is also excluded.
